Field notes | Tufted grass to 1 m high. Leaves mid green, sparsely hairy with tubercle-bases hairs. Ligule ca. 2.5 mm long with a shorlty fringed margin. Nodes hairless. Racemes 3-6. Sessile spikelets ca. 7 mm long. Flowering anthers with numerous purple-tipped hairs. Awn including stipe to 20 mm long, straight or with lower part twisted. Callus densely bearded with hairs about half the length of the sessile spikelet. |
