Field notes [Small sparse shrub, 5-10 ft high and 2 inches in diameter. Smooth brownish bark shed in narrow strips. Interior of calyx frequently (but not always) blood-red or rosy red; style also often completely red, sometimes half red and half green, sometimes also completely green.]

Occurrence remarks [Further down the mountain this species grows mallee-like, and still further down it becomes tree-like, to 40 ft high and 6-10 inches diameter.] The species descends to 2500 ft elevation. [Altitude is given as 2,500-4000 ft.] CSIRO Division of Forest Research, Canberra. Neg No 3138, 31 Aug 1976.
