Occurrence remarks Much branched shrub 1.5-2m tall. Bark brown on older stems, younger stems green. Stems, petioles, primary leaf veins and under-surface of leaves dotted with raised dark glands. Leaves, simple or tri-lobed, paler below. Flowers axillary and terminal. Epicalyx 3-lobed, each lobe with 5-10 acuminate teeth to 1.5cm long. Calyx cup-like, very shallowly toothed or sinuate. Corolla yellow with crimson throat. Fruit an erect, beaked, woody 3-valved capsule c. 5cm long. Inner surface of valves silvery-white. Seeds surrounded by fine fluffy white hairs.
