Occurrence remarks | Bowra Wildlife Sanctuary, c. 2.3km east of Bowra homestead (3.9km in from front gate) which is 11.5km north west of Cunnamulla. Open woodland on yellow sand with Callitris glaucophylla and Corymbia terminalis to 20m; shrub layer of Acacia excelsa subsp. excelsa and Geijera parviflora over groundcover dominated by Eragrostis, Perotis rara and Aristida with Xerochrysum bracteatum, Wahlenbergia, Nicotiana velutina and a number of Asteraceae spp. common throughout and areas where Sida platycalyx is the dominant groundcover. Sub-shrub to 20cm tall; +/- flat leaves, glaucus, pubescent; fruit aggregate, woolly, white soccer-ball like with 3-5 short green spines per segment. Common. Voucher for DNA material at CNS. |
