Organism remarks Characteristic Features: (i) Fruitbodies: tough gelatinous/rubbery, firmly attached by short stalk (1 mm or less long); up to 4 mm widex5 mm long; spathulate to flabelliform irrugularly fan-shaped with undulating margin; not thick and fleshy; when young dull orange and covered with minute white crystals; later when expanded surface is smooth-shiny and bright orange to the eye but glistening minute crystals still present (less densely than before) on upper surface. Lower surface slightly pale-yellower, smooth, shiny. Micro: basidia tuning fork type, clamped at base. Spores allantoid-elongated, e.g. 13.1 x 3.9; 13.4 x 4.5 microns; 1 to 3- septate; spores from spore print 12..8 x 4.9 (see photo) mostly 1 or none septate and some less often are clearly 3-septate. Structure of cortex to surface cells: no cortex, thin walled not inflated. Hymenium on one side of fruit body. Spore size too large for D. spathularia E9016= D. cf. spathularia but has thin walled cortical cells and larger spores that are sometimes 3-septate. Odour: none. Spore print: on slide. Life mode: S.
