Occurrence remarks Locally abundant (many 1000s of plants in collection area but extends over at least the 8–10 km distance by road south west of Narrabri in the Travelling Stock Route on the eastern side of the Highway) herb to 1.7 m high. Stems and leaves succulent. Leaves V-shaped above the petiole, brown with grey streaks and often with plantlets attached to the notches on the leaf margins. Flowers in pendant umbels at the end of peduncles. Corolla red; stamens 8, filaments red, anthers yellow, 4 yellow styles per flower with each style attached by a stigma to a separate ovary.

Growing in Eucalyptus populnea F.Muell. subsp. bimbil L.A.S.Johnson & K.Hill and another Eucalyptus sp. (box) woodland, where growing with Dodonaea sp., Eremophila deserti (A.Cunn. ex Benth.) Chinnock, Geijera parviflora Lindl. and Lycium ferocissimum Miers."
