Event remarks | Rocky basaltic creek line of black to brown clays, or small outcrops of boulders derived from olivine basalt. Open forest to woodland of Lophostemon confertus, with Eucalyptus crebra and occasional Melaleuca bracteata, rainforest trees of Toona ciliata, Ficus spp., lower shrublayer of Mallotus philippensis, Maclura cochinchinensis, Lantana camara, groundlayer of Adiantum spp., and Geitonoplesium cymosum. Small open area beside creek with no overhanging vegetation present. Soft, fleshy-leaved forb to 50cm tall. Flowers yellow, conspicuous. Forms small isolated colonies on basaltic pavement beside creek, generally with few other plants present. |
