Event remarks | Common, widespread at locality. Distinctive clump-forming sedge to 70cm wide and 50cm tall. Adventitious, establishing from soil seed-bank or vegetatively in harsh exposed environment after extensive sand-mining works, forming obvious component of rehabilitation. One of the first to recolonise. |

Supplied as "Upper slope of extensive dunal ridge of deep sands, organic matter at depth. Previously mallee open woodland of Eucalyptus racemosa, Corymbia gummifera and Eucalyptus planchoniana, with tall shrubs of Banksia aemula, and shrubby understorey of Xanthorrhoea johnsonii, Ricinocarpos pinifolius, Caustis spp., Woollsia pungens, Persoonia virgata, Olax retusa and Hibbertia linearis. Now extensive area of bare, windblown sand due to recent mineral sands extraction, with low isolated adventitive shrubs of Acacia ulicifolia, A. suaveolens, Caustis recurvata and Ricinocarpos pinifolius. Part of Mining Lease ML 7064 and ML 1108, Unimin Mining Pty Ltd." |
