Field notes PILEUS diameter 45 mm; shape broadly convex; colour mid-brown with a yellow tint towards margin; surface smooth, with a white universal veil patch in centre; margin translucent-striate. LAMELLAE free; thin, crowded; colour creamy white, yellowing at pileus margin; margin appear almost serrate (woolly under magnification); one series of lamellulae. STIPE size 98 x 7 mm (top) 9 mm (middle) 19 mm (base, including volva);shape widening toward base; position central; colour white; texture mealy; mostly hollow but partly stuffed; no annulus; sac-like volva very fragile and breaks easily; one-third to half the stipe is below ground level. FLESH about 4 mm thick above stipe, thinning toward margin of pileus; colour white; texture firm. ODOUR none. SPORE PRINT white. HABIT solitary to scattered. SPORES mean 10.7±0.6 – 7.9±0.3 µm. (N=25) Q=1.40, inamyloid, smooth, subglobose to broadly ellipsoid. BASIDIA 4 spored 41 – 64 µm, clavate. CLAMP CONNECTIONS absent.
