Event remarks | Stanton D and Fell Torres Strait mapping unit 1f. Complex evergreen notophyll vine forest. Canopy includes Calophyllum sil, Argyrodendron polyandrum, Cryptocarya cunninghamii, Syzygium branderhorstii, S. buettnerianum, Archidendron hirsutum, Anthocarapa nitidula, Pouteria myrsinodendron, Acmenospermum claviflorum, Canarium vitiense, Gomphandra australiana, Podocarpus grayae, Palaquium galatoxylon, Horsfieldia australiana, Licuala ramsayi var. tuckeri and Maniltoa lenticellata var. lenticellata. Upper slopes and crests of granitic mountain. Common canopy tree on most upper slopes. Rainforest habitat represents best development of evergreen mesic forest in the Torres Strait islands. |
