Occurrence remarks | To 60 cm high. Ray florets pale pink, ligulate with pink branched style; disc florets yellow, corolla trumpet-shaped with 5 (rarely 4) spreading lobes with stigma exserted from supporting structure and with 5 appressed 'lobes'.Achenes ovoid, flattened with most hairs on the edges. Leaves, stems and involucral bracts glabrous. Base of leaves white and constricted (at stem leaf junction). In the North Western Slopes upstream of the junction of the Peel and Namoi Rivers, this species is only known from soils derived from serpentinite (at this location and at Woodsreef). From check made at NSW (main collection) by J.R. Hosking it is obvious that the specimens from serpentinite are different to the specimens from other locations (serpentinite specimens have. different leaves, stems and smaller flower heads).
