Occurrence remarks A soft wooded aromatic herb of rather straggling more or less erect growth which is due to the particularly harsh conditions on the lava flow. Grows to height of about 60cm. Flowers blue. Fairly common plant on the flow.

Event remarks Basalt lava flow where soils are extremely scants. Weathering of the lava has been only slight and the plants are found in small pockets where leaf mould has been trapped by the lava.
