Organism remarks | Characterised by: (i) strongly inrolled then appendiculated cap margin; (ii) applanate then funnel shaped toffee brown cap; (iii) scurvy upper stem, tomentose lower stem; Pileus: to 35 mm diameter; applanate with strongly inrolled margin, soon expanding and uplifting with increasingly depressed center, finally infundibuliform with incurved appendiculate (extends beyond gills); toffee brown (near 6D8 to 6E8) becoming only slightly paler with age and not or reluctantly hygrophanous; surface smooth lubricous/shiny. Gills: subdecurrent, to 3 mm deep; not venticose, closely spaced, edge smooth and entire, concolorous with face (cream near 5A2) unchanging with age; lamellules of two tiers abundant. Stipe: up to 50x5 mm; equal, hollow with age; surface dry, minutely squalulose or scurvy near apex; coarsely tomentose (white hairs) towards base, brown but paler than cap. Flesh: dull cream. Basal mycelium: not conspicuous. Taste: not tested. Odour: not distinctive. Spore print: white. Life mode: S. |
