Occurrence remarks Denseley and closely branched dark green stiffly erect shrub to 1 m tall. Green stems minutely hirsute becoming reddish brown then developing similarly coloured rough bark. Elliptic to ovate green leaves in whorls of 3, margin entire and recurved, glabrous adaxially, hairs sometimes on abaxial surface, reddish apex. Flowers axillary. Ribbed calyx green with purplish brown lobes; corolla white or pale lilac, fuchsia spots on base of 3 abaxial lobes, rusty coloured spots over yellowish wash inside throat; stamens pale lilac with blue polllen sacs and white pollen; staminodes white; pistil pale lilac. Fruiting calyx brown enclosing 4 reddish beige mericarps with a dimpled surface.
