Occurrence remarks Perennial, forming dense, tangled, somewhat scandent patch 5 x 3 metres, ca 80 cm high (but partially supported by other vegetation), frequently rooting at nodes where touching ground. Stems green, slightly succulent, more or less 4-angled in cross-section, covered with a patchy white scurfy surface, the scurf exfoliating in drying, stem dull. Leaves succulent, moderately green, discolorous, paler on lower surface, glossy on both surfaces. Some leaf margins reddish. Inflorescence terminal, with branchlets spreading almost at right angles to axis. Pedicels green or olive green suffused reddish, calyx green. Flowers widely open, stellate. Flower buds deep pink/magenta. Outer surface of petals with a deep pink midrib. Inner surface of petals white or white in lower 2/3 or lower 1/2 and pink in upper half. Carpels white, or white suffused with pink. Filaments white, anthers pink. Flowers not scented. Another 2 patches of similar size several metres away.
