Occurrence remarks | Multstemmed shrub to 5 m. Sterile. Bark glossy brown, with conspicuous lenticels. Leaves semi-glossy, dark green above, dull green below with yellowish-brown midrib. Plant origin unclear - owners say it was not planted but it has been deliberately protected by car tyre and has now expanded to fill it. It does not appear to have originated as rootstock for custard apple. Owners report fruit is many-seeded and lots of seedlings germinate from fallen fruit. Pisolitic saline soil, mud (deltaic) cay.Photos. Collected as part on the Northern Australia Quarantine Strategy. This specimen has been treated with ethanol for preservation and biosecurity purposes. |
