Locality | Cape Barren Island, Bass Strait. About 440 m at 178.75 degrees from Big Hill's summit. Southern scrub of Big Hill. |
Habitat |
Supplied as "One of two trees forming the northern edge of the southern patch of remnant rainforest understorey of the hill. The other nearby shrubs are Bedfordia arborescens, Pomaderris apetala, Melaleuca ericifolia, Notolaea ligustrina, Pittosporum bicolor and smaller Leptecophylla bushes. The collected tree's base is 7 m south of the edge. Its branches all slope uphill and the crown is no more than about 4.8 m high. The edge of the patch was formed and maintained by many fires. The latest, on 24 Oct 2006, did not kill any of the local edge. The local eucalypts (probably E. globulus subsp. globulus) are all dead, prone boles (to 1.2 m in diameter) and were killed >60 years ago." |
