Field notes Leaves linear ovate, denticulate revolute alternate, smooth above pilose beneath, sepals orbicular acuminated. Flowers large axillary solitary light purple a small bractea on each side of the base of the leaf in the axil of which the flower springs. Pedicels long. Viz 3 or 4 ft, flowers most of the year. Hairs on whole of plant except the upper surface of leaves & the petals. The capsule when young is beset with pili. Pili considt of a circular stem terminated by a globular ball separated from the stem by circular ring.
