Occurrence remarks Herb to 13 cm high. Leaves 3, green, one below flowers shorter than others. Corm white with dark brown to black tunic. Inflorescence 2-7 flowered. Plants unisexual. Flowers with 6 tepals, white with continuous transverse purple band about 30% of the distance from the base towards the apex. Male flowers with tepals 5-7 mm long and c. 2 mm wide, anthers purple then splitting to reveal golden yellow pollen. Female flowers with tepals 4-7 mm long and c. 1 mm wide. Fruit a purple-grey capsule to 4 mm long at this time
