| Occurrence remarks | Lowland shrub species, evergreen with spindly ingrowth, with 10-27cm by 3-7cm scabrous edged leaves. Leaves have a rasp-like texture and grow in small semi-circle whorls. The flowers are large, 3-5cm long and white, with very obvious 6 ribbed ellipsoidal fruit. Fruiting and flowering individual is between 1 to 2m tall on average. |

Species preferred habitat is well developed coastal complex mesophyll, often in affiliation with Calamus australis, Calamus radicalis, Licuala ramsayi, Benstonea monticola, Ristantia pachyspermum, Rhodamnia sessiliflora, Lindsayomyrtus racemoides, Normanby normabii, Beilschmiedia sp., Atractocarpus hirtus and the occasional Lepidozamia hopei. River and Cape Tribulation." |
