Occurrence remarks Single shrub seen, 1.8 m high. Young stems stellate hairy and pale brown, older stems dark brown and hairless. Young leaves mid green above with few white to pale brown stellate hairs, whitish green below with numerous white and a few brown stellate hairs, older leaves darker with no hairs above. Flowers tubular with brown calyx. Corolla pink, pale pink to yellow green towards apex. Stamens initially enclosed, later exserted. Anthers initially greenish yellow, yellow with pollen, filaments initially green, pink to red when exserted. Silica gel material at NE. Digital images with John Hosking.

Supplied as "Landform: on island in creek in area flooded at high stream flows. Parent material: granite, quartz and sedimentary rock. Soil: dark brown silt. Vegetation: {Eucalyptus} sp., {Leptospermum grandifolium} Sm. (J.R.Hosking 3910), {Leptospermum obovatum} Sweet (J.R.Hosking 3911), {Tasmannia} sp. and {C. reflexa s.lat.} riparian forest fringed by numerous native and exotic grasses and herbs."
