Occurrence remarks Alt.: c. 410m. Cultivated. Voucher for Eucalyptus study. These plants were germinated and grown from open pollinated seed sampled from a native Eucalyptus ovata tree near Nunamara. The plants are F1 hybrids between the local E. nitens plantation (pollen source) and the native E. ovata. These hybrids have been verified using morphometric techniques and isozymes with the results published in New Forests 23: 177-191 (2002). These hybrids have also just been recorded as establishing in the wild and examples of these could be seen under the tree that the seed from which these submitted plants were grown. Morphometrics have shown little difference to exist between the glasshouse grown plants and those in the field. The recent establishment of these plants in the wild has been documented in a paper submitted to Australian Journal of Botany.
