Organism remarks | Cap dull pale brown (as in photo and when picked) peridium very thin. Stipe a massive tapering solid mass 50 mm long x 40 mm wide at top bright yellow on surface. Gleba zoned from yellow (as in flesh) at base through olives to light ochre/olive brown (5D5) when powdery. Rhizomorphs minut yellow 1-3 mm wide, not really at part of the stipe itself, but rather ramifying in the soil immediately below the stipe. Flesh in stipe bright yellow (4A8) dulling when cut. Sporeprint: none. Mode of life: unknown. |
