| Occurrence remarks | Grass to 90cm high. Roots pale brown, almost white. Stems and leaves mid green; ligule consisting of short white hairs. Glumes initially green towards the middle, then purple and the edges membranous, older glumes appearing almost white. Lemma with long white hairs below the sinus and all the other hairs on lemma shorter, white and of similar length. |
