Occurrence remarks Carpels mostly shed as a unit of 6. Leaves concolorous. Pedicels 5-6 mm long. Scape compressed, often twisted, margins thickened. Stigmas with short white hairs. All flowering and fruiting stalks geniculate at or near junction of spike and scape. Flowering heads vertical above water surface. Fruiting heads soon lying on or below water.
