Occurrence remarks Locally common (10 flowering plants in collection area) shrub to 1.2 m high. Stems grey to whitish grey when young and obviously with 5 longitudinal ridges. Phyllodes usually with one prominent vein. Heads 2 per leaf axil. Flower in groups of 4 or 5 per head. Petals 5, dark yellow, stamens paler yellow and numerous, ovary red. Pods not present. Habitat
Supplied as "c. 2 degree slope. Washed stones of many types substrate. Old alluvial area now mainly red brown sand. Eucalyptus spp. (box and ironbark) shrubby open forest where growing with Dianella admixta Gand., Dodonaea sp., native grasses, Vittadinia sp., Chrysocephalum semipapposum (Labill.) Steetz s. lat. (J.R.Hosking 3176), Lomandra sp. and Cassinia laevis R.Br. (J.R.Hosking 3175)."
