Occurrence remarks Erect densely clustered columnar species to 3 m tall. Stems 7-8 ribbed, mid green. Very old stems with lichen growing on them (RJC 10106). Two buds present, shiny (retaines until flowers open). Flowers opened 8.i.2007. Flower 16 cm long, 7 cm across +/- cup-shaped. Outer segemnts red, inner segments white inside, greenish towards base. Filaments greenish below, cream above. Style cream with a tinge of green; stigmas pale yellow. One large clump.
