Field notes | Erect, multistemmed herb to 40 cm high. Stems stiffly erect, solid in cross-section, sulcate, beetroot red (green or slightly red in young plants), glossy. Leaves hardly scented, not foetid as in C. murale. Petiole purple. Leaves succulent, slightly discolorous, mid green on upper surface, paler on surface with white cup-like scales. Leaf margins purple, upper surface midnerve purple, green on lower surface. |
