Field notes Locally frequent (scattered to dense over 35 m x 3 m) shrub to 3 m high. Multistemmed from base. New stems with dense simple purple hairs. Leaves dark green above, paler below and with simple white hairs on both surfaces but more frequent below. Calyx with simple scattered white hairs. Corolla c. 2.2 cm long. Berries pinkish-red to 6 mm wide at this time. Plants emit a foul mousy smell particularly when crushed.
