Occurrence remarks | Locally dominant twiner over 80 m x 10-15 m of visible riverbank. Growing to 3 m high on supporting vegetation. Plants spread over large areas but few points of attachment to ground seen. Stems, petioles and petiolules green with white and rusty hairs. Leaflets to 7 cm long and to 4.5 cm wide, dark green above, paler below, hairs on upper surface white, those on the lower surface mostly white but some rusty hairs on larger veins. Many leaves going yellow, apparently from moisture stress. Stipules and stipels present. Upper petiolule to 12 mm long and lateral petiolules to 4 mm long. Pods 1.3â3 cm long, reflexed, flattened, dehiscent, initially green. but dark brown to blackish with age and covered with rusty hairs; cross walls between seeds; 2â6 seeds per pod. Seeds tan, c. 3 mm long and c. 2 mm wide, somewhat rectangular with rounded corners. |
