Field notes | Caps to 4 cm diam., centrally umbonate, the umbo dark red, almost blackish, squamulose, the dark blackish scales becoming less dense as the margin is approached. Stalks slender, 5-6 cm long, 6-7 mm diam. at base, narrower at attachment, where it is c. 4 mm diam., concolorous with cap and appearing to have imperfect rings of velar material. Gills adnate to notched. Spores bean-shaped, 8 x 6 µm, surface conspicuously ornamented with irregular warts. |
Occurrence remarks | Another collection of the red Dermocybe species. Bruno [Gasparini] no. 241. Ratkowsky has indicated that this may be a mixed collection, but has not labelled the separate components. |
