| Field notes | Stromata simple, emerging from soil with fertile head and part of stipe visible. Upon removal from soil, stipe c. 115 mm in length, 8 mm in diameter, terete, then flattening out for at least another 40 mm, presumably approaching attachment to host, which was not located. Fertile part oblong, flattened, with longitudinal groove, distinct from stipe, beige. Perithecia immersed, darker brown. |
