Field notes	Herb to 45 cm high but generally spreading over ground at lower heights. Ray florets pale purple and darkening to dark purple as they become older and roll up; disc florets yellow. Leaves, stems and involucral bracts glabrous. Base of leaves whitish and constricted at stem leaf junction.
