Occurrence remarks Locally common (8 small naturalised plants in the front garden and a few in the back garden) shrub to 1.5 m high at this time. Previously there were 2 shrubs in the front yard that were removed in 2010 and four in the back yard that were removed in 2013, the highest shrubs being around 5 m high. Plants are still emerging from seed in the back and front gardens. Occasional plants are also growing in small gaps between pavers. Palmate lobed leaves dark green above and paler below.Cut petioles exude a milky sap. Perianth white and pale green with 2 purple longitudinal streaks in each of the 5 lobes. Male flowers with 10 stamens, pollen butter yellow and filaments white. Seeds pale brown with small darker brown patches. Digital images with John Hosking.
