Field notes Gregarious. Basidiomes solitary, or 2-3 adjacent to each other. Eggs 20-40 x 20-40 mm, with thin skin, off-white, soft. Developing receptacle white, solid, surrounded by greyish brown gleba closest to Greyed-Brown Group 199A, the gleba is minutely chambered. The gleba is surrounded by a gelatinous mass, the mass greyish brown/olivaeous brown, closest to Greyed-Brown Group 199 D. Rhizomorphs white. Smell is somewhat unpleasant, strong, similar to rotting bananas.
Occurrence remarks 8 basidiomes. They seem to persist at the egg stage for a long period without developing further. Some develop within the egg. Some of the basiodomes had adult beetles inside.
