Occurrence remarks Mostly submerged aquatic herb with long stems. Leaves opposite, dimorphic. Submerged leaves finely divided and fan-like. A few small, entire, emergent leaves associated with emergent inflorescence. Flowers attractive, with white corolla and yellow stamens. Dense to patchy infestations scattered along at least 200 m of channel (including some on Lot 541). Reported to be target of control attempts by Cardwell Shire Council.

Supplied as "Weed of drainage channel flowing off Lot 541 Bulgun Rd. and into Bookal Bookal Creek c. 1 km away. Uncertain how far infestation extends along this overgrown perennial channel. Growing with Limnocharis flava, Hymenachne amplexicaulis, Ludwigia hyssopifolia and Fuirena spp."
