Occurrence remarks Perennial herb forming a small bush to 50 cm high; foliage chartaceous, green with a purple tinge; flower heads white. This is sold as Eupatorium rugosum 'Chocolate'. Eupatorium rugosum Houtteyn is considered a synonym of Ageratina altissima (L.) King & H.E.Robins. Plants were sourced from an interstate nursery (probably Victoria) and it was the first time that they had been offered to the public by this nursery. Due to the similarity to various weedy daisies in this group, this species should be regarded as having weed potential in Queensland. The species is native to eastern North America and is commonly known as Snakeroot.
