Occurrence remarks | Orange polypore on roots of Eucalypt, roots exposed at track cutting. Upper surface bright orange rim (velvety look), rest pale orange-yellow. Pore surface pale cream. Large one feels moist, smooth, cold; small one dry, smooth, cold. Smells like the South Coast orange {Piptoporus australiensis}. Notes by H.Lepp, 2019: Crimson in KOH; monomitic, no clamps; hyaline, subglobose spores, 5-6 um. |
