Field notes Leaves thin-textured, not dorsiventral, to 145 cm long and 8 mm wide, narrowly-sheathed over basal portion, trailing downstream submerged at and near the surface. Stems also submerged, including inflorescences and infructescences, but the geniculate upturn at the base of each mature flowering or fruiting raceme indicates (apparently) emergence of the inflorescence for pollination. Fruits green, 6-carpelled, each carpel with strong acute dorsal ridge.
