Occurrence remarks Cactus to 2 m high. Cladodes, grey-green. Areoles with 0->20 spines with the larger numbers being present on basal parts of larger plants. Sepaloid perianth parts green and pink. Petaloid perianth segments pinkish purple, to 2.5 cm long and c. 1.1 cm wide; stigma lobes white (7 lobes in only flower fully open), style pinkish purple; stamens with purple filaments and pale yellow anthers
