Occurrence remarks | Said to be the source of the rhizomes that caused severe illness when eaten by a woman (see Poison Plants book for reference). Rhizome c. 4 feet long from ground level with fibrous leaf-bases attached. Leaves to 3 feet long from base. Petioles c. 2 feet and winged in lower portion. Spathe young, coiled and green. Spadix style 5-lobed but flattish. Green ovary. [Treated for Fungal Damage 10 SEP 2018]. |
