Habitat |
Supplied as "Flood plain of creek, had seepage ?from underneath adjoining the low rise. Burnt about 12-24 months ago. Had little puddles in the cattle pugs. About 20-30 m wide. (45 m + in places). Slight calcareous crust in places, with blue greens. Soil: Grey-brown loam. Eucalyptus victrix, Corymbia hamersleyana low open woodland over Acacia bivenosa high shrubland over Fimbristylis littoralis, Fimbristylis elegans sedgeland to closed segeland with Peplidium sp. E (F of A) very annual open herbland. Eucalyptus victrix 8-10 m; Acacia bivenosa 2-3 m < 5-40%; Fimbristylis littoralis 15-20 cm 30-45%; Fimbristylis elegans 15-20 cm 30-45%; Corymbia hamersleyana 1%; Peplidium sp. E (F of A) 1cm 5-10%. Must be dry in summer (Triodia wiseana). Site had some small springs. Opposite slope, similar except had Triodia pungen 70 cm 40-50% cover (not burnt). Site 87 may have had a similar amount of Triodia except not as steeply sloping. There were some Stemodia grossa adult perennial plants, but most were annuals. Acacia bivenosa had been fire killed. The Eucalyptus victrix was at one end only. Two Chara species were recorded (MET 15,207 and 15,208) at this site. Associated annuals: Cyperus squarrosus, Ammannia baccifera, Cyperus difformis, Stemodia grossa, Sporobolus australasicus, Trichodesma zeylanicum, Cassia notabilis, Andrachne decaisnei, Sesbania cannabina, Portulaca pilosa, Cleome viscosa, Fimbristylis elegans, Fimbristylis rara. Associated perennials: Solanum diversiflorum, Triodia wiseana, Acacia pyrifolia (slender form), Cenchrus ciliaris, Cenchrus setigerus , Cassia oligophylla, Heliotropium chrysocarpum, Adriana tomentosa....
