Occurrence remarks Single shrub 80 cm high naturalised at this location, other shrubs seen here previously but these have now been smothered by Lonicera japonica Thunb. Stems woody. Leaves opposite, dark green above, paler below, to 4 cm long and to 2 cm wide. Sepals 5, persistent in fruit, to 0.8 cm long. Fruit to 2.7 cm long including remains of styles.
