Occurrence remarks silvery hairs. Nectary pale yellow-cream; ovary green with whitish hairs. Styles in bud (looping from dorsal side of perianth) mauve-pink, becoming pale lilac as flower opens. Style ends 8 pollen presenters pale straw yellow. Anthers yellow. Young fruits green with reddish-purple (longitudinal) stripes on dorsal side. Undersurface of leaves pale silver. Flower colour richer when growing in full sun. Seedlings nearby. Localised, frequent. Tagged Clone no. 13. [Photographed for GPI 2014.]

Habitat
Supplied as "Flood zone terrace next to river, N bank, S aspect. Hard igneous rock; sand and loam pockets in crevices. {Leptospermum brevipes}, {Bursaria lasiophylla}, {Callistemon} sp., {Rubus fruticosa}, {Callitrix tetragona}, grasses, herbs. Flats nearby are cleared {Eucalyptus blakelyi} forest. Spreading much-branched shrub, this one 1.2 m tall, others to 2 m. Flowers with strong sickly smell with a distinct mousey scent. Inflorescences decurved (peduncle) through c. 120 degrees; secund. Perianth lilac inside, darker below curve (almost to black), lilac-purple outside overlaid with appressed"
