Occurrence remarks Stock nibble the leaves and young shoots of this plant. Local name 'Crackers', on account of the ripe seed pods making a cracking noise when bursting. Children often collect the pods before they open and squeeze them between the thumb and forefinger. The effect produces a sharp report.
