Occurrence remarks Tree 23 m x 25 cm, native tree but treasured, trunk tuberculate, prop roots 8 m x 8 cm, muricate, leaves 224 x 11.5 cm; syncarp cylindric, 43 x 27.5 cm wt. 34 1/2 lbs. (smaller one 32 1/2 ibs). Fruiting all year long, pulp not eaten. Seeds in endocarp roasted in hot stones, then eaten. All trees near village owned by some villagers but people squabble over them. In remote bush are wild, unclaimed trees. Leaves used for house walls, but not for mats.
