Occurrence remarks Fern with fronds to 75 cm long. Fronds spreading from base and to 30 cm above base. Arising from what appears to be a small underground trunk. Fronds dark green above, paler below. Sori green and smooth. Spores dark red-brown, almost black, globular, top of spores with a pale brown structure, probably the remains of the sori. Broad tan scales on lower parts of the frond axis
