Occurrence remarks Trees just coming into leaf. Upper flowers bisexual and in groups of 1 4 when emerging but ending as 1 2 fruit in upper leaf axils. Lower flowers male with stamens falling before sepals; sepals 4, purplish on outer surface, ~2.5 mm long, ~1 mm wide; petals 4, cream and mostly enclosed by sepals, as long as sepals but narrower; stamens 4, style appearing bifid
