Occurrence remarks These specimens from shrubs with branches that are layering and rooting into soil. Leaves green, paler below, glabrous. Bracts hairy (most hairs white, some tan), deciduous. Corolla with tube c. 10 mm long and lobes c. 25 mm long; 2 lobes directed downwards and 3 lobes upwards, all lobes mauve, central upper lobe and edges of other 2 upper lobes closest to the central lobe with orange spots. Stamens 10, filaments pink and covered with white hairs, anthers pink with pale yellow tips (pollen?). Stigma pink, sticky; style purple-pink, end near stigma paler

Copel. and Polyscias sambucifolia (Sieber ex DC.) Harms. Naturalised weeds nearby include Ilex aquifolium L. and Arbutus unedo L. Growing next to ecotone with hanging swamp. Narrabeen sandstone. Dark brown and high in organic matter."
