| Occurrence remarks | Erect, densely branched succulent, 1.2 m. Sub-shrub, many branches originating from base, then spreading and branching toward their tips. Pollen orange. Pistil and stamens pale mauve. Corolla mauve-blue, tube pollen - white stripes on lateral lobes. Inflorescence axis maroon, as are calyces. Fruiting calyx. Mericarps black, fruiting 2 x flowering calyx. Leaves mid-green above, yellow-green beneath, silver sheen to both due to hairs, veins below pale, primary vein suffused red. Stems red-grey, then yellow-brown and grey-brown with age. Occasional. Photo, spirit, living. |
